In
the early 1950's, Morrisville residents had an
idea. Their growing community needed a place suitable
for summer fun and recreation. Children needed
a place to cool off, acquire skills and build
friendships. Familys wanted a place to gather
and relax.
So,
the residents took action. They began a door-to-door
campaign to raise interest and funds to break
ground on the Morrisville Community Pool.
These
people were volunteers. They were concerned
about the future of their neighborhood.
Over
the last forty-five years, volunteerism has
been an integral part of the Pool. The Board of
Directors has always been comprised of volunteers.
In the last years, much has been done at the
Pool, solely through the effort of volunteers.
You
may have noticed the buildings have been painted,
the ladies' restroom has been renovated, new lighting
has been installed, grounds have been maintained.
All were possible because of volunteers. Have
you seen the new furniture around the pool? All
were purchased with funds raised by a volunteer
fund-rasing committee.
Yes
even this website, was designed and is maintained
by volunteers. |
